This is a collaborative project between Sakamoto and Scottish curator Rachel Grant that invites critical feminist perspectives from practitioners from Scotland and Japan. The project explores an experimental method of collective film making through online platforms as well as collaborative writing. The significance of this collaboration is that it examines the potential for solidarity among female artists through their art practice focusing on the theme of everyday labour and care. Through the comparative context of contemporary feminist movements in Japan and the UK, this project explores the possibility of exchange, mutual learning and communication among the emerging female artists in both countries. |
