横浜にあるBankART1929のレジデンスプログラムでの作品。スタジオの近くにある山下公園に係留されている氷川丸。1960年までは北太平洋を航海する旅客船だった。かつて世界中の風景を眺めたであろうこの船は、現在は一つの場所に留まりやがてランドマークとなり、人々の記憶に刻まれ続けている。この不自由さの象徴であるかのような氷川丸を地元の人が過去に撮影したスナップ写真を借り、そのイメージを線で描き、そのドローイングをカメラで撮影した。人々の氷川丸の記憶をなぞり更新するためのドローイングは、まるでアニメーションのように動きを持ち、まるで再び航海しているように見えるかもしれない。この作品ではこのドローイングの行為自体を作品化したいと思い、その記録として写真作品を展示をした。

2.写真をよく見る。ドローイングする。

This is an installation work shown at the residency program in BankART1929 in Yokohama. There was a passenger ship called Hikawamaru in Yamashita Park located near the studio. Hikawamaru used to travel all over the world until 1960, and then it was tied up at the park. Now it has become a landmark of Yokohama andit has been stamped indelibly on the minds of the people who have visited and lived there. I wanted to make a project about the ship which is almost like a symbol of comfortlessness without freedom. Firstly I asked local people to lend me their snapshots of Hikawamaru and then I drew the image of the ship onto papers as if I traced the photographer's memory. I made hundreds of drawings in the end. This operation was a similar action to dismantling the landscape in somebody's memory and I thought the whole process was to trace the memory as a piece of work. So I decided to take a photographs of these drawings as a documentation of this performative process. The installation consists of the photographs of the drawings, the photographs I borrowed, and some writings below written directly on the wall;

To imagine the landscape that somebody saw
1 To collect photographs of the landscape of Hikawamaru which somebody took. 
2.To look at the photographs well and draw the image of them. 
3.To document the drawings.
